Bringing Back a Scituate Summer Tradition

When I was growing up, The Quarterdeck was the place to go. The second the school year ended, my friends and I would ride our bikes down to the harbor, heading straight for the counter that had the wish bracelets. We’d each pick out a favorite and tie them around our ankles—tiny colorful promises of adventure, friendship, and sunshine. It wasn’t just our crew—just about every girl I knew had one that stayed on until it wore off with the last swim of the season. It was more than a bracelet. It was a rite of passage.
When The Quarterdeck closed, I felt like that little piece of summer magic disappeared with it.
Fast forward to a few months ago: I was dropping off an order at my friend Maureen’s house, and we started reminiscing. I told her how I’d been thinking about those bracelets all week. And wouldn’t you know—she pulled one out of a drawer, perfectly preserved for years. That moment confirmed it. I wasn’t the only one missing that feeling.
So I went on a mission to bring the wish bracelet tradition back to Scituate. And I’m thrilled to say… they’re here! Starting this weekend, I’ll be selling them as part of Saltwater Collection at the Board143 Annual Spring Fling in North Scituate — Saturday, May 10 from 2–6pm.
To make it even more special, each bracelet is named after a piece of Scituate that inspired it:
Harbor Blue / Medium Blue – calming like the harbor on a clear day
Scituate Seashore / Dark Blue – deep and classic, like the sea itself
Humarock Haze / Purple – dreamy summer purple hue
Sand Hills Mural / Rainbow – a rainbow tribute to a community tradition
Summer Nights / Black – Dark night with a sky full of stars
Lobster Buoy / Red – bold red, like the docks in July
The Jetty / Silver – silver and strong, like the rocks we grew up on
Cedar Point Glow / Pink – soft pink, like sunrise at the lighthouse
✨ Tie one on your ankle, make a wish, and wear it all summer long until it falls off. ✨

I’ll also have tons of other Saltwater favorites with me—hand-poured candles by Feather & Finn, our best-selling Après Beach and Cheers Lobster sweatshirts, Scituate tide charts, and some adorable seashell magnets Hailey and I made together.
It’s going to be such a fun day. I’d love to see you there—say hi, shop small, and maybe grab a bracelet for the ankle (or wrist) to start your own summer tradition.
xoxo,
