Why I Love Wix for Building Websites

Just a heads up: This post contains an affiliate link. If you sign up for Wix through my link, I may receive a commission at no additional cost to you. I only recommend tools I personally use and love.

When it comes to building a website, you don’t need to be a developer or know how to code to create something beautiful, professional, and completely customized to your brand.

As a graphic designer, I’ve worked with a lot of different platforms over the years, but Wix continues to be my go-to for designing websites for my clients. It gives me the creative freedom I want as a designer, while still making it easy for my clients to manage their own websites once we launch.

If you’re thinking about building a new website or finally upgrading the one you have, you can use my affiliate link to save 50% on your first year of a Wix Premium plan: Click Here to get started.

Here are my top five favorite things about Wix:

1. You can make it completely your own

This is probably the biggest reason I love Wix. I’m not limited to a rigid template or a handful of layouts. I can start with a blank canvas and create a website that actually feels like the brand I’m designing for.

Fonts, colors, imagery, buttons, layouts, spacing, illustrations, graphics. I can customize all of it.

Your website is often one of the first places someone interacts with your business, so it should feel like you, not like a template that 500 other businesses are using.

2. You don’t need to know how to code

Wix gives you so much design flexibility without requiring you to be a developer.

Its visual editor makes it easy to move things around, adjust layouts, add new sections, swap out photos, and make changes without digging into code. That means I can spend more time thinking about the design and user experience instead of the technical side of building the site.

And for my clients, it means they aren’t dependent on a developer every time they want to make a small update.

3. It’s easy for my clients to manage after launch

This is a BIG one for me.

I want my clients to feel comfortable taking ownership of their website once we’re finished. If you need to change your hours, update a photo, add a new service, write a blog post, or make a quick text edit, you should be able to do it yourself.

I build and design the site for you, but Wix makes the day-to-day updates manageable without needing to call your designer every single time you want to change a sentence.

(Of course, you can still call me. 😉)

4. Everything can live in one place

Instead of piecing together a bunch of different platforms, Wix gives you a lot of tools within one system.

Depending on your business, you can add things like online booking, a shop, blog, contact forms, email marketing, event registration, memberships, and more.

I love being able to build a website around what a business actually needs now, while knowing there’s room for it to grow later.

5. It gives me the freedom to DESIGN

At the end of the day, this is why Wix works so well for me.

I’m a designer first. I want to think about typography, color, hierarchy, imagery, branding, and how everything works together visually. Wix gives me enough control to create a site that feels custom without turning every design decision into a development project.

A website shouldn’t just function well. It should look and feel like an extension of your brand.
